Keens Mature Cheddar - Reviews

Keens Mature Cheddar

This cheese is traditionally made with unpasteurised milk and animal rennet. It now has a PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) which means that the cheese is made with local milk and has been made on the farm by hand. The maturing process takes twelve to fourteen months after which the cheese has a smooth but strong ‘earthy’ flavour.

Robust, mouth filling taste - definately de-luxe ploughmans lunch fayre.Should go well with Black rat cider.

Lovely cheese, so much flavour. Wonderful texture- how cheddar should look and taste. Gorgeous eaten in many different ways.

Tongue burning, very masculine cheese. Sticks to the teeth for an unexpected surprise. Spring onion taste. Not a good utility cheese.

Accidentally discovered that this makes an excellent substitute for parmesan.
