Ducketts Caerphilly - Reviews

Ducketts Caerphilly

This is a lightly pressed, moist and crumbly cheese made from cows milk. It at its best at four weeks of age before stronger flavours and softer textures develop. It has a sharp lemony fresh flavour and is beautiful eaten on its own. Chris Duckett makes his cheese by hand using old traditional presses.

A nice cheese that goes down well on its own.

This semi-crumbly cheese goes down well as a dessert with coffee and crackers.

Delicious. All the family enjoyed it, especially our 8 year old son who announced it was the best cheese he's ever tasted!

We think Gwendolene would like this inoffensive little number if she'd tried it, one of Wallace's "not even Wensleydale?" cheeses. We made the mistake of eating it on oatcakes at first but the oat flavour overpowered the cheese so we opted for a cracker instead.

This is not a crumbly cheese. Unlike other Caerphilly cheeses we have known. Too bland, needs to be sharper.

This is a lovely cheese with a good flavour but not too strong. Nice eaten with a warm crusty roll.
