Windswept Cow Cheese Company, Dorset
Marian Field and her husband moved to manage the farm at Worth Matravers in 1993. Their daughter (now 14) was born there and has been brought up helping on the farm.
Marian has always been passionate about cows. She has her own beef herd but wanted to create something and as milk prices were tight she started to make her own cheese from milk lovingly collected from carefully selected cows.
She collects the milk directly from the dairy and takes it straight back to her home where she makes the cheeses before the milk gets cold. All her cheeses use unpasteurised milk as the farm is completely TB free.
Such is the success of her cheese that she has recently moved from her kitchen to in a dairy and is now able to make cheese in a little larger quantity. She really enjoys making the cheese and says my cheeses are all loved!
The next step will be a bigger dairy and employing staff whether she decides to take that step remains to be seen but she will keep making her cheese
