Toppenrose Dairy, Cornwall
It is very sad that David and Lynn ceased trading as Toppenrose Dairy early in 2009.their cheeses are no longer listed on the site. I have left the information about them avaialable for you to read as their story is interesting and who knows they may come back at a later date. We wish them well.
David Lambrick arrived at Trenance Farm, then known as Toppenrose Farm, when just one month old. It has been his home and his life ever since. He and wife Lynn have raised their family on the farm which sits at St Keverne on the Lizard Peninsular with land overlooking the Helford Estuary and Falmouth Bay.
David and Lynn are committed to farming as is their son, Ben who is very much part of the business. They realised that the herd of 90-100 pedigree Friesians was no longer enough to provide for them all and like the majority of farmers they looked to diversify to ensure the farm survived. In April 2002 they had a new processing unit built which was specifically designed for making soft, mould ripened cheeses.
Demand is growing for the superb hand made cheeses and soon I predict Regina in the creamery will be busy making cheese every day as Shosh, the Sales Manager expands sales on a regular basis. Currently 60% of the cheese is sold into Cornwall but it is available as far afield as Denmark. David, Lynn and Ben have invested heavily in the future of Trenance Farm - it looks to be a great success!
